The EU-LAT Network presents its latest report on The State of Civic Space in Latin America, which examines the challenges faced by civil society and human rights defenders in Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Peru, and Ecuador.
The report analyses key trends, including restrictions on fundamental freedoms and increasing risks for human rights defenders. It also provides recommendations for EU institutions to enhance their support for civic space in the region.
The report will be presented today, on March 20, 2025, at the European Parliament, during a session of the Delegation for Relations with the Countries of Central America (DCAM).
