On February 15, the European Union (EU) invited members of civil society to participate in a communication consultation on the EU’s relations with Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). Several organizations contributed their inputs to the future of EU-LAC relations. The EU-LAT Network together with CONCORD, and HRDN, as well as other CSOs with long experience in Latin America and the Caribbean (Pax Christi International and Heinrich Böll Foundation) presented a document that welcomes the European initiative to review its relationship with the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean and call on the EU to base this relationship on the two pillars of sustainable development: people and the planet. The EU-LAT Network also commissioned an article on EU LAC relations from the perspective of civil society.
