The General Assembly of the EU-LAT Network took place online on April 21 and 22, in which 29 members participated.

We had the opportunity to have Soledad García Muñoz, Special Rapporteur on Economic, Social, Cultural and Environmental Rights (DESCA) of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), talk to us about the latest report on inter-American standards on human rights and business. We also had Sylvia Obregón, policy officer at the European Coalition for Corporate Justice (ECCJ), who explained the current process surrounding the proposed European due diligence law.

After two days of exchange, the assembly has decided to prioritize human rights and companies, environmental justice and the impacts of COVID-19 on women in its work plan.

The assembly also formalized the entry of three new members, the organizations; Agir ensemble pour les droits humaines, Taula per Mèxic and PBI Nicaragua.
