Human Rights Watch says, by population, Honduras has the highest murder rate of journalists in the region. Yet, this month, the European Union provisionally implements the new EU-Honduras Association Agreement, starting with the fundamental trade pillar.
The Agreement has few mechanisms ensuring human rights in Honduras. So, how can Europe use its market strength to improve civil justice in Honduras? And how can it stop European companies exploiting the poorest and the weakest in Honduras?
